I remember those days

On 71st and Shore Road

At the lunch table

I opened a green Thermos

Steam coming out of the top

Some days it was chicken

Other days it was pasta

Every day it was something new

Something to keep my stomach full

Something to help me grow strong

Something cooked by my mom
